Recently a customer of ours participated in the charity event "Shitbox Rally" in his W126 V8. The event is based on cars which cost under $1000 and is less of a race than it is a community event. In this case the 6 P's prevailed (Proper Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance) and the customer managed to complete the event without a single incident or breakdown!

The blistered paint adorned with patterns of honey brown drips of residue adjacent to brightwork turned green with furry oxidation made for a gorgeous piece of modern art. A rolling Jackson Pollack. The interior brought to mind the eerie devastation illustrated by Robert Ballard’s shots of artifacts from the Titanic’s first class lounge resting on the ocean floor.

This would-be Pollack was thankfully complete and correct and I’m proud to have initiated the roadster’s resurrection. The ensuing deals saw the car thoughtfully displayed for its artistic value in essentially “as-found” condition at the 2008 Essen Motor Show where it stopped everyone in their tracks for a closer look. Once 198 values began to rise, restoring this matching numbers two-top SL began to make sense and it has just recently emerged from a comprehensive concours quality restoration. Mission accomplished.

This years Goodwood Revival Meeting in West Sussex, England enjoyed three days of fantastic weather while the historic race cars ran around the circuit.

The Fox Classic Car Collection includes more than 50 prestige vehicles collected over a 30 year period by Lindsay Fox. The collection includes Bentley, Ferrari, Jaguar, Porsche & Mercedes-Benz marques. It is ideally situatedin the historic Queen's Warehouse in Melbourne's new and exciting Docklands precint. The building itself has an interesting history being a former customs building and tenanted by the government printer in the early 1900's.

Come along and view one of the largest Mercedes-Benz car collections in the southern hemisphere or experience the high life while wandering through rows of luxurious vehicles such as the Porsche Spyder made famous by James Dean and the Mercedes 300SL, the likes of which Pablo Picasso, Juan Fangio and Ava Gardner once owned. There's no replacement for displacement. Through the evolution of the combustion engine this saying has become so outdated that even the fastest cars in the world are downsizing their engines. The AMG performance division of Mercedes-Benz has created the pinnacle of engineering in their new GT S. Having considerably downsized the motor from a 6.3L naturally-aspirated engine to a 4.0L bi-turbo has resulted in a slight loss of power, but increased efficiency, improved emissions & an amazing fuel consumption of less than 10L/100km. This slight loss of power hasn't taken away from the character, as the car has been lightened by 100kg's & a newly designed chassis uses space-age materials to provide the driver with the ultimate driving experience. Almost everything has become either user-controlled or dynamically adjustable to suit the driving conditions; the transmission, differential, exhaust, suspension & even the engine mounts have comfort & sport modes. We can't wait to see this technology get passed down & used throughout the entire Mercedes-Benz range!
